After a somewhat lengthy journey, CAI has established an Anodizing capability.
Initially we will Anodize to MIL-A-8625, Type II, Class 1 (non-dyed) and Class 2 (dyed – black), with our focus firmly set on achieving NADCAP Certification in the near future.
We installed the line with an eye on increasing capabilities and have allowed for future expansion to include Boric-Sulfuric Anodizing. We feature 12’ x 4’ x 4’ tanks, enabling us a wider range of longer pieces as well as the capability to process larger batches resulting in improved processing lead times as well as a more economical solution for our customers.
Started as a need to control our costs and lead time, we find a tremendous excess capacity. Now companies in Arlington and north no longer have to transport their items into the Greater Metropolitan area.
We would like to acknowledge Hans Juergensen, an Aerospace Specialist with Chemetall, for his contributions, recommendations and guidance during our installation and establishment process.
In addition to our new Anodizing capability we continue to offer Alodine, Prime and Paint services, making CAI the newest one-stop-shop for local finishing requirements.

Rick Phillips, Vice President Retiring:
On November 20, 2014 our current Vice President, Rick Phillips, will leave us to begin his new life as a retiree.
On July 1, 2001 Rick retired from the US Navy after serving 30 years. In September 2004 Rick began his new career at CAI.
Starting as a Purchaser he rose to the position of General Manager by November of the following year.
Rick was responsible for overseeing the inclusion of Skagit Machine & Fabrication into our blossoming family. During his tenure he also coordinated the acquisition of Cadillac Cables’ inventory and equipment, liaison with L3 Communications and the US Navy during the C-9B Refurbishment Initiative lasting from late 2007 through April of 2009 as well as several other major projects.
Rick coordinated two relocations for CAI. The first being within Burlington, WA and the second, in February of 2013, when we relocated to our present location in Arlington, WA. CAI’s downsizing in 2009 imposed the need to do more with less. Rick assumed the duties of several departing managers including Human Resources, Training and Contracts Review.
His CAI family wishes him and his wife of 40+ years, Chris, the best of luck as they manage their retirement years from their headquarters in Oak Harbor.
